May 30, 0 19, Better to use 2x4 if you want to benefit from dual channel faster access to the RAM. But using 1x8 will make it easier to upgrade in the future if you want to maximise your ram. Jul 15, 15, 0 66, 1, BrandonYoung Reputable. Oct 13, 1, 1 5, Assuming your motherboard supports dual channel memory, I would advise getting a matched pair of ram 2x4GB. If you want to upgrade down the road to 16GB, you could always get a single 8GB now, and an identical one later if you only have 2 memory slots.
But for fastest performance, make use of dual channel memory if it is available. Nov 26, 69 0 18, 0. Ok, which RAM is the best for gaming? CPU - i5 S 2. You must log in or register to reply here. Build around a B board at the very least. You lose way too much going with crap boards like A I just recently added a GPU after 8 months myself.
The wait isn't so bad to add that 8GB RAM stick, but make sure they're the exact same sticks so they work together with dual channel. As for GPU you will be able to run a great amount of programs and games with the integrated graphics whilst waiting. Don't rip yourself off in a rush to run a budget build. Budget means cheap, but too cheap leads to problems and more money later.
